Kenneth G. “Judo” Regenniter

January 14, 1928 — November 13, 2009

Kenneth G. “Judo” Regenniter was received home to Christ on November 9, 2009.

Kenneth was born January 14, 1928 and raised in Kansas City. He graduated from Shawnee Mission Rural High School (now SM North), before joining the Navy "to see the world." On his service through Florida he met and married his wife "Kitty" of 61 years. While stationed in California he found his passion in life, in the martial arts. Ken achieved many accolades throughout his years in the martial arts including accompanying the U. S. judo team to Japan for the 1964 Olympics. He served on the national board for the AJJF (American Judo and Jujitsu Federation) as well as the AAU. Ken founded the Sunflower Judo Club where he taught for over 40 years. He used the martial arts as a vehicle to share his love of the Lord, his other passion, with his students by always opening and closing each class with a word of prayer.

Ken was a proud family man and had a huge love for all of them. He leaves behind his wife Grace "Kitty;" 2 daughters, Lyn Lowry and Debi Ramsey and the grandson that he raised, Lance Lowry; as well as 4 additional grandchildren, Brian Everard, Joshua Lowry, Rachel Lowry, and Jeremy Lowry; 2 great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lowry and Ava Lowry; plus an extended family consisting of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many students and friends.
