Kenneth M. Taylor

Kenneth Morgan Taylor, 85 of Lenexa, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011.

Ken was born May 17, 1925, to the late Huel and Almar Taylor in Comanche, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Ken married Roma M. Stayton on June 14, 1973. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Religion from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. Ken worked for Honeywell, formerly the Bendix Corporation as a Fabrication Technician for over 33 years before retiring in 1991. He was an active member of the Antioch Church of the Nazarene where he served for several years as a board member, caretaker and was active with the children's ministry at the church.

Ken is preceded in death by his first wife Martha; daughter, Bonnie Wiese; three sisters; and four brothers.

Ken is survived by his loving wife Roma, of 38 years; three daughters, Joyce Ball and husband Ken, Gina Tanner and husband Anthony, and Joy Tallant; two sons, Glenn Taylor and wife Becky and Dean Stayton; three grandchildren, Laura Ball, John Ball, and Ryan Wiese; and a sister, Lula Mae Riggle.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Kansas City Rescue Mission, 1520 Cherry Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64108-1530.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Antioch Church of the Nazarene, 7600 Antioch Road, Overland Park, Kansas 66204. Burial with military honors will follow at Antioch Pioneer Cemetery.
