Larry D. Fritter

September 26, 1945 — April 10, 2010

Larry D. Fritter of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away at his home on April 10, 2010, after a brief battle with cancer.

Larry was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas. Shortly after graduation, he was in the National Guard which was called to active duty.

Larry had many careers. He worked at General Motors and co-owned SOS Printing Company with his brother-in-law. Most of his job though involved outside sales. Larry was an outgoing man who never met a stranger. His last job was at United Office Products where he was treated like family. One of his favorite pastimes was playing with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father E. Pierce Fritter. He is survived by his wife of 41 years M.E. "Cookie" Fritter; his daughter Trish Meyer and her husband Michael; his mother, Frances Fritte;r and his sister Beverly Matthew and her husband Norman. He is also survived by his two grandchildren Corey Meyer and Makenzie Meyer and two nieces, Michelle Matthew and Lisa Matthew.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Kansas City Cancer Center and Catholic Communities Hospice.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 p.m., on Wednesday April 14, 2010, with the funeral service starting at 6:00 pm. A private burial will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
