Larry E Jones

Larry Earl Jones, 90, died July 14, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri.  He was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Grace May Jillson and Earl Jones on October 8, 1932.  Larry graduated from Ipswich High School and attended South Dakota State University after serving in the US Air Force.  He graduated with a degree in electrical engineering and spent his entire career with the Federal Aviation Administration.

Larry married Janice Beck in Delmont, South Dakota on March 15, 1959, and they celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary earlier this year.  Larry was an accomplished woodworker and musician.  He also enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, photography and golf.  While he could build or fix anything, he excelled at being a loving and supportive husband and father.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Erla Engen.  He is survived by his wife, Janice and his children Renee Causey of Olathe, Kansas, Jonna Jones of Overland Park, Kansas and David Jones of Bernice, Oklahoma.

Fellowship will be held at the Amos Funeral Home on July 22, 2023 at 1:30 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm and inurnment at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice in Larry’s name.
