Larry E. Kerr was born in Sedalia, MO on June 5, 1939, to EdnaFern Kerr and John Olivern Kerr. The nfamily later moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Larry graduated from Westport High School in 1957. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps in Alameda, California in 1958 where he served for the next three years. Larry excelled at just about everything he set his mind to including baseball and tennis, winning several team and individual trophies. He worked for may years as a mechanical draftsman, designer and chief draftsman. Larry the decided he wanted to work outdoors and bacame a mail carrier in Johnson County, retiring in 1999. He loved this work and made many friends along his route.
Larry is survived the his son, Christopher Kerr of Enterprise, Alabama; his brother, John (Joyce) of upland, California; his four beloved grandchildren: Micah, Titus, Nalei, and Zachary.
A private memorial service was held on February 27, 2023. Burial at a later date at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
