Larry R. Love

Larry R. Love, loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend, passed away at his home on October 27, 2009.

Larry was born to Marvin R. and Doris (McGowen) Love on October 22, 1945 in Ottawa, Kansas. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School, Johnson County Community College and served our country in the United States Army, receiving The Army Commendation Medal. He worked at Piping Alloys Inc., Lenexa, Kansas for 30 years. Larry loved cars, especially his beloved Chevy muscle cars, completing the NY Times Crossword puzzle in ink, 60's music trivia, and attending his grandchildren's athletic events and performances.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Susan; his two daughters; Jennifer Love Seeber (Ronald), Shawnee, KS, and Sara Schlessman (Rusty), Baltimore, Maryland; 4 grandchildren, Michaela Jamison, Olivia Jamison, Elise Jamison and Mack Schlessman; and a brother, Terry Love (Carol), Shawnee, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers donations in Larry's memory may be made to the KU Cancer Center.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Friends and family may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, October 30, 2009, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Westside Family Church in Lenexa, Kansas at 10:00 AM followed by burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
