Larry Wayne Reynolds

Larry Wayne Reynolds, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, following a brief illness.

Larry was born in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1942, attended Rosedale High School, and Holy Name Catholic Church. An avid sportsman, he loved to play golf and most team sports, having shown well in high school athletics. He retired following a long career at Burd & Fletcher.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Reynolds; his mother, Katherine Reynolds; his wives Lora Ann and Carolyn Kay; and a son Michael Carter. He is survived by his sons, Larry Wayne Reynolds, Jr. of Shawnee, Jim Durkee also of Shawnee, Donald Reynolds of Overland Park, David Reynolds of Lee's Summit; and a daughter Robyne Carr of La Cygne. He was grandfather to 15, and great grandfather to 4.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to: American Legion Post #327; Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care; or The American Cancer Society.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2011, at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens and will commence with an American Legion Honor Guard.
