Laura A. Brown, 51, of Shawnee, KS passed away June 25, 2014. She was born Oct. 27, 1962 in Youngstown, Ohio to Fredrick and Virginia Mackell Winch. Laura attended Austintown-Fitch High School and graduated in 1980. She joined the US Navy and served on the USS Point Loma in San Diego, CA. Following her service in the Navy, Laura attended and graduated from Virginia Common Wealth Community College. In 1993 she married David M. Brown in Shawnee, KS. David is formerly of Independence, KS. The son of the late J.T. (Terry) and Ruth Jean Brown. Laura worked for Transport Funding as a Credit Manager. Laura was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Rick and Clifford Winch. She is survived by her husband David M. Brown, two sons, T.J. Cooper of San Diego, CA and Bruce Cooper of Shawnee, KS, by her mother, Virginia Winch, and two loving dogs, Bridget and Bella. Laura was loved by many and will be forever missed.

Visitation & Memorial Service

A visitation will be held Saturday June 28th from 5 to 6 pm at the Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will follow at 6 pm.
