Laura Gehring Byrom

Laura Gehring Byrom passed from this earth into the embrace of God on June 29, 2019.

She is survived by her parents, Louis and Michelle Gehring, her brother Karl Gehring and his wife Cara, her son Liam Byrom and his father Greg Byrom.

Laura accomplished a great deal in her short life. She was deeply committed to serving the community by changing and enhancing people's lives as a certified personal trainer. She successfully competed in multiple body building competitions and consistently pushed herself forward.  Laura was an accomplished violinist and enjoyed all kinds of music. She also loved painting and crafts.

Most of all, Laura loved her son and her family with all of her heart.

Laura lived with bipolar disorder for many years.  Her personal struggles reflected those of many other persons who live with anxiety and depression.  She was a beacon for many people serving as an advocate, friend and trainer.

A Celebration of Life for Laura will be held on July 11, at 4:00 p.m., at the Colonial Church in Prairie Village, 7039 Mission Road.  A reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be in the form of gifts to the Liam Byrom Education Fund and the Laura Gehring Byrom Addiction Relief Fund at Colonial Church.
