Laura A. Grandgenett

Laura A. Grandgenett, 59, of Overland Park, KS passed away surrounded by her family July 2nd, 2023.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Amos Family Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 pm.

Laura was born July 22nd, 1963 in Rockford, Illinois to Robert and Sandra Darrington.

Laura, who went by Lorelei, graduated from Shawnee Mission West in 1981. She worked for Johnson County Mental Health for 33 years.

Lorelei was one of the funniest, wittiest and most loving people on this earth. She loved the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed their Super Bowl wins more than Travis Kelce! She always marched to the beat of her own drum, stuck it to the man and was a wild and free spirit. She loved learning new things and reading. She would offer understanding and support to those who were misunderstood with a big smile and quick humor.

Lorelei will always be in the hearts of the family. Please keep our family in your thoughts and hug your loved ones today. We will always continue to make her proud. Whether it will be seeing live music, dancing the night away, doing puzzles or just having a refreshing beverage with family. Cheers to you Darling Peaches, you will be forever missed and loved!

Lorelei is preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her mother Sandy Whittenberg; her daughter Amy Grandgenett and fiancée Caleb Thomas; her son Neil Grandgenett; Amy and Neil's father Mark Grandgenett.
Siblings Carolyn Oslund (Dave); George Darrington (Pam); Helen Darrington (John Shaft); Greg Darrington (Kathy). Her loving nieces and nephews.
