Laura Ellen Street Johnson

Laura Ellen Street Johnson, 85 years, of Shawnee, Kansas, formerly of Omaha, Nebraska, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 22, 2013, at Shawnee Gardens, Shawnee, Kansas. Laura spent her adult years blessing others while serving with her husband in ministry, as well as raising their four children in Omaha, Nebraska. After her husband passed on she moved to Kansas City and resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Steve Hasty of Shawnee, for the past 16 years. “Gigi” enjoyed an active life in her church, Lenexa Christian Center, and with her family and friends.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde T. and Minnie E. Street; her husband, Rev. Merle Ray Johnson; son, David Pozzi-Johnson; a brother, Robert Street; grandson, Christopher Pozzi-Johnson; granddaughters, Sarah Savich McAlexander and Samantha McAlexander and grandson, Douglas Savich.

She is survived by her sister, Doris Dalke; sister-in-laws Lorraine Street, Doris Kohl, Beverly Marcault; brother-in-law, Harry Johnson and wife Carol; daughter-in-law, Janis Pozzi-Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Rick Radtke; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Steve Hasty; daughter, Ruth McAlexander; grandchildren: Bethany Pozzi-Johnson, Heather Bawdon, Jason Radtke, Jessica Radtke, Taylor Radtke, Jennifer and Vince LaVergne, Laura and Cole Chmielewski, Zachary Hasty, David and Brittany McAlexander, Rebekah McAlexander, Joshua McAlexander, Benjamin McAlexander, and great-grandchildren: Trinity Bawdon, Jack, Hayes and Isaac LaVergne, Noah Ramirez and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial Services and Contributions

A memorial service will be held graveside at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to support mission through your local church.
