Lawrence "J.R." M. Dirkes, 48, of Olathe, Kansas passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Olathe Medical Center.

J.R. never met a stranger and always was willing to lend a helping hand. He was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back even if that was all he had.

J.R. is preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Jean Hall in May of 2011.

He is survived by his significant other of over five years, Jennifer McCoy; his father, Robert Hall; three sisters, Charlene Hall; Serenne Thompson; Brianne Good and husband Michael; a brother Robert V. Hall, II; his faithful canine companion, Whiskey; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 22 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. A celebration of J.R.'s life will follow the visitation at 4 p.m.
