Lawrence Eugene Hill

Lawrence Eugene Hill, 84, of Shawnee, KS passed away peacefully at home March 4, 2015.

Larry was a life-long Kansas City resident and was extremely active in the scouts achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He spent many years as a scout leader, and was a member of Tribe Mic-O-Say. Larry was a Korean Vet, serving in the Navy and the Coast Guard.

In 1957 Larry wed Irene McHenry and they had two children. He owned Hill's Carpet & Linoleum for 19 years in Shawnee, KS. He served as treasurer at Epworth United Methodist Church and usher at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Larry was a proud and active member of many groups; American Legion, VFW, DAV, Forty & Eight, Destroyer Escort Sailors Association and the Third Wheel Trikers.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents John and Anne Hill. He leaves behind Irene, his wife of 57 years, his children; Eugene (Miriam) Hill of Overland Park, KS and Diane (Michael) Hulet of Olathe, KS and 3 grand-children; Brandon, Jordan, and Hayden Hulet.

Services will be held Monday March 9, 2015 at 1 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church 5601 W. 62nd Street Mission, KS. The family will receive friends and relatives from 12-1 pm, also at Trinity Lutheran Church.
