Lee K. “Bud” Horstman

December 16, 1924 — August 12, 2017

Horstman, Lee K. "Bud", 92, passed away Friday, Aug. 12th, 2017. He was born on Dec. 16th, 1924 in Kansas City, KS. He grew up in southern Missouri. He was a W.W. II Navy Veteran, a lifetime member of Shawnee American Legion Post # 327 and Lenexa VFW # 407. He was a home builder of many homes in JOCO and later remodeled Safeway and Food Barn stores before retirement. He was preceded in death by parents; Alfred and Gertrude Horstman, Sisters; Esther Peck, Jean Brown, Ethyl Stumpff and Louise Brittingham, and granddaughter Tracy Horstman. Survivors include wife, Verla (Sis), sons; Dennis (Pam), Alfred (Johanna), Stepson Rick (Mary Jo) Caenen, stepgrandson Nick (Katie) Caenen and great-grandchildren Addasyn and Kade Caenen. Cremation.

A visitation will be on Sat, Aug. 19th at 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion #327, 6521 Nieman, Shawnee Mission, KS 66203 or Olathe Hospice House, 15310 S. Marion St, Olathe, KS 66061.
