Leona Millican

Leona Margaret Millican, 91, passed away September 27, 2019.

Leona was born February 23, 1928, in Hallsville, Missouri, the oldest daughter of Walter and Katherine Mitchell.  She spent most of her life in the Kansas City area and had lived in Raytown, Missouri, for the past 64 years.  She was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Raytown, becoming a member in 1968.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Delores Ann, and her first husband Howard W. Jones.  She is survived by her husband Charles Millican, her children Bill Jones, Mary Jones, Virginia Dumlao, Ken Jones, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Leona was an intelligent and outgoing woman that made friends easily.  She was a great parent, spouse and a hard worker, not retiring until her mid-eighties.  She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and was blessed with very good health until just a few months ago.

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.  She will be remembered for her hard working nature, positive outlook on life, her tenacity and exceptionally keen memory.

Visitation and Graveside Service

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2019, at the Amos Family Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.

Memorial Contributions

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, 6800 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66212.
