Leslie Holdeman, Jr. passed away on November 8th, 2022, at Advent Hospital, Merriam, KS.
A memorial service will be held at Indian Heights United Methodist Church, 10211 Overland Park, KS 66207 on Monday, November 14th, at 1pm.
Les was born January 6th, 1925 in Iowa City, Iowa to Muriel and Leslie Holdeman. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member and past chairman of the Kansas City Section, American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was an Eagle Scout and served as Scoutmaster of Troop 497 in Overland Park, KS.
During World War II he was a Flight Radio Officer in the Air Transport Command working for American Airlines and Pan American Airways, Africa-Orient Division before joining the USNR. He worked for ten years in the Production Department for KCP&L Company before working in the Power Division of Black & Veatch for 30 years, retiring in February 1990. He was an early member of Indian Heights United Methodist Church.
Leslie is survived by, Virginia Lee Holdeman, wife, of Overland Park, KS; Mark Leslie Holdeman, and wife Debra Lynn Holdeman, of Monument, CO, and son, Kurt Jesse Holdeman of Martin City, MO. Ryan Holdeman, Grandson, of Las Vegas, NV. Joseph Leslie Holdeman, Grandson, and wife Ashley Nicole Holdeman, of Monument, CO. Christine Marie Newton, Granddaughter, and husband Chad Michael Newton, of Vienna, VA.
