Leta Ann Flaggard

Leta Ann Flaggard, age 58, of Overland Park, Kansas, died on April 30, 2011 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle against cancer.

Leta was born November 13, 1952, in Quincy, Illinois. She was the daughter of the late Viola M. and Jessie F. Graham o f Kansas City, Kansas.

Leta is survived by her three loving daughters: Ruth A. Peter (Craig) of Johnson County, Rhonda S. Pennington (Jason) of Johnson County, and Renee S. Baze (Derek) of Wyandotte County. Leta was blessed to have seven grandchildren: Jessica A. Pennington, Jacob A. Kurtzman, Courtney K. Kurtzman, Kyle R. Pennington, Taylor J. Pennington, Dalton J. Baze, Mattie L. Peter and one great grandchild" Peyton M. Kurtzman. Leta was also survived by three loving sisters: Janice K. Close, Pamela E. Baker (Tom), Sandra K. Moore; a loving brother, Jesse F. Graham; and a loving stepmother, Judy A . Graham. Leta was blessed with many lifelong friends who will miss her greatly.

She spent her life devoted to helping others as a nurse. She was a great role model for her daughters and a dedicated loving grandmother. Leta's wisdom, courage, and strength will proceed on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2011, at the chapel. Burial will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
