L. Jean Petrie, 87, of Overland Park, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at her home.

Jean was born September 27, 1929 to the late Lyle and Virgie Trosper in Ottawa, Kansas. She graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 1948. Shortly after graduation, Jean married Dr. Samuel Charles Petrie. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1989, after 38 years of marriage. A sister, Ann Underwood also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl A. Krug-Laskey; Samuel E. Petrie and wife Linda; M. Sue Fernandez and husband George; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, December 22, at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Jean will be laid to rest with her husband at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
