Lillian Louise Black Bamberger

Lillian Louise Black Bamberger, 91, passed away December 25, 2010, surrounded by loved ones.

Lillian was born November 20, 1919, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Catherine S. and Warren C. Black. Her family moved to Canton, Ohio where she graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 1937. It was there that she met her husband Harold "Bud" Bamberger, whom she married in 1943.

Lillian led a full life, raising a family and working various jobs until her retirement in 1979 from The College of Wooster in Ohio where she was the executive secretary to the Vice President of Finance. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed visiting friends and family across the country, as well as excursions to Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, and Hawaii. Her later years were spent living with her family in Lenexa, Kansas.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 36 years, Harold E. Bamberger; her son, Harold E. Bamberger, Jr.; her daughter, Kathleen B. Stroud; and brother, Howard Black.

She is survived by her son Stephen, his wife Julie, and their children Tracey, Kevin, and Kara Bamberger, all of Lenexa; her grandchildren Katrina Stroud, Cristi Downey (Kevin), Sonya Jacob (Jim), Heather McCrea, and Stephanie Schultheis, as well as 12 great grandchildren.

Hers was a life well lived and she will be greatly missed.
