It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Laraine Angell, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us on October 17, 2024, at her home in Shawnee, KS. She was 75 years old.
Linda was born on April 12, 1949, and went on to lead a remarkable life filled with compassion, dedication, and love. While raising her two sons, Matthew and Patrick, alongside her husband Leland Angell, Linda pursued her nursing degree at Washburn University in Topeka, KS. She went on to serve as an ICU nurse for 14 years, touching the lives of countless patients with her unwavering kindness and care.
A talented and award-winning quilter, Linda's works were cherished by all who knew her. Her quilting room was her sanctuary, filled with the tools and fabrics she lovingly used to create beautiful pieces. One of her proudest achievements was having one of her quilts exhibited at Washburn University's Mulvane Art Museum for a summer show.
Linda had an incredible ability to connect with people, making friends wherever she went, while always maintaining the close bonds of her oldest friendships. She was a pillar of love and support for her family, creating a warm and nurturing home. Her joyful spirit, boundless kindness, and love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Leland Angell; her two sons, Matthew and Patrick; her grandsons, Nathan and Logan, and her granddaughter Claire.
Linda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched.
A service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 29th 2024, at 2:00 pm at Amos Funeral Home in Shawnee, KS.
