Linda Jeanne Bohr, a long time resident of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away on Friday November 29, 2024 while surrounded by her loving family & childhood friend at home. Linda was born on July 22, 1947 in Des Moines, IA where she was raised, later moving to Overland Park, Kansas.
Linda graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School. On Oct 17, 1964, she married Robert E. Bohr. Together they made their home in Shawnee. She was a homemaker, while raising their daughter.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jeanne (Schroeder) Wheatley, and her sister Susan Jo Naegele.
Linda leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Robert E. Bohr, her daughter Deborah J Rogers; grandchildren Bryan R Modersohn, Jamey W. Watterson, Casey J. Watterson, Megan Frazier, Austin Sargent, Brooke Rogers, and Chloe Rogers; and 7 great-grandchildren .
Robert & Linda owned Wind Spirit Arabian Farms in Shawnee, and Linda had many achievements in the Equestrian world. She was one of the founders of Eastern Kansas horse association, and was a member of Greater Kansas City Arabian Association. She also was a member & special-event coordinator for the Water Garden Society at Greater KC shows & special events. Linda showed her Arabians all over the USA & went Top 10 in Lady’s Side Saddle & Top 10 in Native Costume & US NATIONAL CHAMPION in Albuquerque, New Mexico!
A visitation will be held from 10-11:00am, with a memorial service beginning at 11:00am, on Friday, January 3rd, 2024 at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, KS. She will be laid to rest following the service at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
