Linda Louise Gibbons

Linda Louise Gibbons, 68, of Shawnee, KS passed away on February 14th, 2023, in Overland Park, KS.

Linda was born December 2nd, 1954, in Hillside, IL to Zane and Martha Brantner. She grew up in Kansas City with her brother Terry and sister Peggy.

Linda worked for the federal government for over 40 years and retired from the Dept. of Labor, Wage and Hour Div. in Kansas City, KS. However, her proudest work was as a mother to Sam Gibbons, Jr. She enjoyed raising him in St. Louis then Lee’s Summit before moving to Shawnee, KS and retiring in 2016. She shared her life with her biggest fan Kathy Rodriguez. Her entire family meant the world to her. She was blessed to be loved and cared for by many families and friends, including Sam, Kathy, Terry, Brandon, Katie, Audra, cousins Mary and Wendy, Donnette, Ann, neighbors, and Kathy’s family.

Linda is preceded in death by her father, mother, sister, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her son Sam Gibbons, Kathy Rodriguez, brother Terry, nephew Brandon Clay (Katie and Baby Ellie), Uncle Stan and Aunt Evelyn, many cousins, and dear friends.

A visitation will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Lee’s Summit, MO. Followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Linda will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Cemetery in Shawnee, KS. A lunch will follow.
