Linda K. Tinsley, 62, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away October 13, 2013, after an extended illness.

Linda was born September 5, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, to Charles and Marie Soukup. She received her Ph.D. in Education from Loyola. She was a principal at Bluejacket-Flint Elementary in the Shawnee Mission School District. While there, she was admired and respected by students, staff and the community. She treated everyone with a warm friendliness and made Bluejacket-Flint a wonderful place to work and learn. It was through her efforts that the school was named The Kindest Kansas School in 2009. She will be always remembered as a strong advocate for students.

Linda is survived by her brother, Chuck Soukup and her beloved nieces, Maggie and Annie of Punta Gorda, Florida.

Memorial Mass

A Memorial Mass will be at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church (11311 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas). A reception in Linda's Honor will be held immediately following the Mass.
