Lois Ellen Rahm, 83, passed away on August 11th, 2022 at Trustwell Living at Mission Springs in Mission, Kansas.
Lois was born on October 28th, 1938 to Adolph and Margaret (Dudenhoffer) Rahm in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Mercy High School in St. Louis, and attended two years of school at University of St. Louis. She graduated from St. Mary’s College in San Francisco, California. Lois worked as the Vice President of California Savings and Loan (now U.S. Bank) for many years.
Lois was a very religious person and deeply involved in the Catholic faith. She enjoyed giving out retreats to people, especially to prisoners. She attended mass every Sunday at San Quentin Penitentiary with the inmates. Many inmates would reach out to Lois in the years to come, thanking her for helping them in their walk of faith.
She always had an open house to those that needed her. Many wives of inmates would come to stay with her while visiting their loved ones. She loved when friends and family came out to California to visit so she could entertain her guests.
During her free time Lois loved to travel the world, visiting the Holy Land, Rome, and China to name just a view. She was involved in ski groups and even learned to fly an airplane. On her 50th birthday she went sky-diving out of an airplane. She loved a good glass of wine.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Bickford/Trustwell Mission nursing home for their great care of Lois over her time there. They would also like to thank Monarch Hospice for their exceptional care.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Neil Rahm. She is survived by her sister, Joan Pils; 6 nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and many friends and loved ones who will miss her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at 11 am at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Memorial donations in honor of Lois may be made to City Union Mission .
