Loretta Irene Bone

Loretta Irene (Reist) Bone, 89, died peacefully November 27, 2011, at Menorah Medical Center. She was the oldest of three sisters born to the late Ernest and Frany Reist. Loretta was born on July 10, 1922 in Seneca, Kansas.

She graduated from Seneca High School in 1940, received her B.S. in Home Economics and Nursing from Kansas State University and earned her Registered Nursing Certificate from the University of Kansas in 1946. Loretta worked in several branches of nursing including polio patient care, pediatrics, teaching at Trinity Lutheran Hospital and oncology.

Loretta is survived by Bert, her husband of 60 years; two sons, Russell Bone and wife Joyce, Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and Jeffrey Bone and wife Trixie, Lake Jackson, Texas; grandsons, Steven, Brett, Kevin and Trent; one sister Virginia Brickell and husband Joe, Sayre, Oklahoma. She was preceded in by her sister, Ruth Black.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A Celebration of Loretta's Life will be 2 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011, at the chapel.
