Loretta Jean (Smith) Miller

Loretta J Miller died on October 14, 2023, after a long and full life as a wife, mother, sister and friend.  Loretta was born in 1932 in Muncie, Kansas as the middle child to Charles and Ines Smith.  Loretta was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ermil R Miller, her brother and her parents.  Loretta is survived by her sister, her three children, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Loretta loved Kansas City, its people and activities. She was active in politics and served as committeewoman for years in her party. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and playing golf in her younger years at Indian Hills Country Club which she was a member of for seventy -three years.

Loretta was extremely proud of her husband and his service to the country as a naval aviator during World War II.

Loretta was a passionate gardener. She was a Johnson County Master Gardener for 25 years graduating in the first class offered by the Johnson County Extension.  She brought joy to many people with her beautiful garden and bouquets.

The funeral will be a private ceremony with only close family members present.
