Louis "Norm" Gaignat, 89, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away, Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at his home. Norm was born in Turner, Kansas, and farmed until the flood of 1951. He then worked as a machinist for Boise Cascade until he retired in 1986. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was an avid bowler and missed a perfect game by one pin. He loved to garden and had a passion for his tomatoes and his manicured yard.
He married Ova Harbour on April 14, 1948, in Muncie, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Ova; a daughter, Jeanette Vanderfeltz and her husband, Stephen, of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sons, Jim Gaignat and his wife, Debbie, of Stilwell, Kansas and John Gaignat and his wife, Lisa, of Shawnee, Kansas; four grandchildren, Michelle Kever and her husband, John, Marcus Dibben and his fiancée, Lacey Harmon, Christopher Gaignat and Kendall Gaignat, and two great grandsons, Gaten Willis and John Kever, Jr.

Visitation and Services
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Visitation will be from 1 - 3 p.m., with memorial service at 3 p.m.
