Louise S. Mctigue

September 24, 1924 — August 3, 2011

Louise S. McTigue, 86, of Lake Quivira, Kansas, died August 3, 2011. She was born Louise Marie Steinmaus on September 24, 1924 to Mary (Kopish) and Paul Steinmaus in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She married Joseph Dennis McTigue on November 26, 1949. They moved to the Kansas City area in 1954, where Joe worked as a General Agent for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company.

They had three daughters, Margaret, Barbara and Mary Ann. Louise devoted her life to the care and support of her girls and her husband. Family reunions with the entire extended family and travel with her daughters were her great joys. Louise and Joe also made sure that each of their grandchildren had an opportunity for higher education.

Some of those who went to heaven before her were her husband Joe, sister Barbara Engstrom Essenburg, brother Bob Steinmaus, and granddaughter Maggie (Guth) Bleakley. Among the many who will be waiting to see her again are daughters Marg Guth of Hood River, Oregon, Babs Stilley of Bonner Springs, Kansas, and Mary Ann White of Lake Quivira, Kansas. Also missing her are grandchildren Jamie Guth and Peter Guth of Oregon, Kate (Stilley) Morgan of Kansas City, Missouri, Betsy Stilley and Joe Stilley of Bonner Springs, Kansas, and Ashley Matheny of Shawnee Mission, Kansas.

Louise was known for her strength, ever present loving support, her bright blue eyes and her striking good posture. She will not be forgotten.
