Lula Faye Dockstader

It is with great sorrow we are announcing the passing of Lula Faye (Dotson) Dockstader on 6 January, 2019, after a long battle with dementia.  Born 7 May, 1926 to the parents Eula and Thomas Dotson, she is one of seven children.  At the tender age of 20 she married Francis Kearney on 26 May 1946 and had two beautiful daughters Roxanne (Mitchell) and Karen (Dover).  While her first marriage ended amicably, by fate she found and married her best friend Al Dockstader 2 February 1976, gaining a daughter Melinda.  Her children bore four grandchildren, who in turn had eight great grandchildren, to now two great-great grandchildren.  She is survived by her brother Harrold Dotson, daughters Roxanne (David) Mitchell, Karen Dover and Melinda Dockstader to include all her wonderful grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She ran a very successful Real-estate business, and focused on time spent with family and friends in retirement.  A matriarch of the family she hosted annual family gatherings for the holidays and summers spent with grandchildren camping.  She has lived in Spring Hill, KS, Eureka Springs, AR, Belton, MO, Neosho, MO, and Archie, MO.  Her last six years has been spent in a skilled nursing home in Shawnee Mission Kansas.  In January 2013 she lost the love of her life Al Dockstader.  Her and her husband were devoted Baptist parishioners and helped build multiple ministries across Arkansas and Missouri.  A talented musician on the piano and Sunday school teacher.  She was also an avid crafter making beautiful dresses for her grandchildren, custom towels, quilts, and crocheting comfy throws.  Lula Faye lived life to the fullest and she will be dearly missed by all the friends and family who's lives where touched by her.

Visitation will be at Amos Family Funeral Home, Saturday from 12:00 - 2:00 pm.  Her body is being donated to University Kansas for scientific research.
