Lynn H. Brown

Overland Park

Lynn Higgins Brown was born in Cambridge, Kansas on December 2, 1934 to parents Alfred and Annabelle Brown. He died at the Kansas City Hospice House on March 21, 2025.

He was a proud and devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He married Beverly June “Bunny” Hendrickson on August 15, 1955, while on furlough from the Army. They enjoyed 69+ years of marriage before his death. Lynn served 3 years in the Army, mostly in Germany, in an Army Finance Office.

Lynn earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Fort Hays State University, an MA in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, and a CPA certification from the State of Oklahoma. He worked for 30 years for the United States General Accounting Office in Kansas City and Oklahoma City offices.

Lynn was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Overland Park Kansas for over 50 years. He served as Elder (6 years), on various committees, Junior High Sponsor, sang in the choir, audited church financial statements, and taught Sunday school classes for many age groups. He volunteered time for Crosslines, Johnson County Christmas Store, AARP tax preparation services, delivering meals for wheels and several activities at Tallgrass Creek Retirement Community. Lynn’s most enjoyable times were those spent with his family especially camping and fishing at Roaring River Missouri State Park.

He leaves behind a wife, Bunny, two daughters and two sons, Terry and husband Steve, Michelle and husband Steve, Daniel and wife Mary, and David and wife Shannon, along with 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Knox Presbyterian Church, 9595 W 95th St, Overland Park, KS 66212.
