Lynn Dell Hedrick

May 16, 1931 — March 1, 2019

Lynn D. Hedrick, 87, of Roeland Park, KS passed away on March 1st, 2019. Lynn was born on May 16th, 1931 in Hargill, TX to Jabez and Emma Meister. Lynn was the second oldest of six siblings. She grew up in Burlington, OK. When she was in 10th grade, the family moved to Girard, KS where Lynn graduated from Girard High School.

On October 15th, 1950, Lynn married Bill J. Hedrick and they moved to Hepler, KS. Lynn and Bill moved to Kansas City in the 1950's and later moved to Roeland Park where they raised their three children, Marla, Rebecca and David.

She was a homemaker with a great fashion sense which helped her in her career as a sales associate at Stix Baer & Fuller, Macy's and Dillard's where she retired after 25 years of service. She loved spending time with her family and friends. One of Lynn's greatest joys in life was always offering to help others. She was very active and independent after becoming a widow of 15 years. Lynn was baptized and became a member of Village Presbyterian Church. After retirement, she took up pottery and wreath making where she traveled to craft fairs.

Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; brother, Eldon Meister and brother-in-law, Bob McCord. She is survived by her three children, Marla (Michael) Moore, Rebecca (Richard) Horton and David (Deanna) Hedrick; six grandchildren, Kim (Danny) Armstrong, Matt (Jessica) Moore, Daniel (Megan) Schneider, Geoffrey Schneider, Russell Hedrick and Andres Hedrick; six great-grandchildren, Carter and Colin Armstrong, Alexander, Chloe, Elise and Sarah Moore; and siblings, Beth McCord, Grace (Gordon) Post, May Meister and Dale Meister.

A visitation will take place at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203 on Tuesday, March 5th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Burial at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Lynn's name be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145.
