M. Leon Mitchell

Leon Mitchell, 74, of Shawnee, KS, peacefully passed on Wednesday March 28, 2018 with his family at his side.

Leon was born in Lamar, Missouri.  He was a farmer, construction foreman and transportation supervisor.  In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, metal detecting, gardening and being around family.  He was an avid collector of farm toys and coins. The man could fix anything.

Leon is survived by his daughter, Michele (Eric) Omundson, son Kevin Mitchell, brother, Bill (Janet) Mitchell, granddaughter Mallory Omundson, grandsons Kevin (Victoria) Omundson and Zachary Omundson, great-granddaughter, Annabel Omundson.  Leon was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation services will be held at Amos Family Funeral home on, April 5th between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm.  Leon will be laid to rest at Hubbel Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie, KS along side his beloved wife Marilyn on Saturday, April 7th at 10:00 am.
