M. LaVona (Schindorff) Richerson, 73, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away on April 21, 2014.

LaVona was born on January 27, 1941 to Hubert and Dorothy (Bryant) Schindorff in Overland Park, Kansas. She graduated from Olathe High School. LaVona was best known for her caring and giving nature, always putting others first. She was a lifelong active resident of Shawnee.

LaVona is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sons, Billy Richerson, Jr. (fiancé, Christine Johnson) and Gary Richerson (spouse, Jim Richerson); grandchildren, Madison J. Richerson (fiancé, Matt Dailey), Wyatt L. Richerson; great grandchild, Aubree N. Dailey; and siblings, Donnita Coble of Kansas City, Missouri and Hubert Schindorff (spouse, Carol Schindorff) of Bella Vista, Arkansas. LaVona was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all family and friends.

Service and Visitation

Services to be held at 10 a.m., Friday, at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, Kansas. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m.. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
