M. Lynne Weidmaier

June 18, 1937 — October 8, 2018

M. Lynne (Wylie) Weidmaier was born in Pontiac, Michigan to Malcolm and Helen (Parker) Wylie, who both predeceased her. She died peacefully the morning of October 8th at St. Luke’s Hospice House.

Lynne graduated from Shawnee Mission High School. She was a member of Job’s Daughters and the National Honor Society. Her professional career included 32 years with Bendix/Allied Signal, retiring in 1994. She also served in the US Navy Reserve, retiring in 1999 as E6/P01 after 20 years of service. In the Navy she met and later married the love of her life, Paul Weidmaier. Together they travelled to Hawaii (her home away from home) many times and made many happy memories.

Lynne enjoyed playing word games, tigers, anything Seinfeld, and was proficient in “Sein Language”. She was a grammar perfectionist and known to fire off letters to the editor or news anchors or politicians advising them on how to improve their hairstyle or apparel as well as correcting their grammar, syntax, or pronunciation.

She is survived by her husband Paul, children Kim (Howard) Wulff, Scott (Susan) Kohler, Kelly (Joe) Mast, Teresa (Brian) Faust, Chris (Melissa) Weidmaier, John (Lisa) Weidmaier, Mary (Don) Hall, and Tom (Tina) Weidmaier, her sister Suzanne Reavis (John Van Zandt), nieces, nephews, and 27 grandchildren. She was predeceased by granddaughters Amy Elizabeth Wulff and Elizabeth Nicole Hall.

Her best work in this life was being a great mom and her children had everything they needed and lots of what they wanted. For that, we are forever grateful.

Thanks to Dr. Vincent Lem and Dr. Michelle Rowland who treated her like a person, not just a patient.

Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be sent to Doctors without Borders or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
