Mabel Taylor, age 78, Overland Park, KS passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 at the Overland Park Regional Med. Ctr.

Born February 16th, 1937 in Boxley, Arkansas, to James and Rhoda Self. She lived in Arkansas, Indiana and for the past 50 years she called Kansas City home. She worked at Thermo Fischer and B.E. Aerospace (formerly Puritan Bennet) until her retirement. Mabel was a long standing member of Lenexa Christian Center where she was a member of the Oasis Senior Group and cheerfully served in numerous positions throughout the years. She also gave selflessly to community organizations such as “My Father's House” in Poala, Kansas.

Survivors include husband Glen Taylor; daughter Brenda Preston and her husband Jay; son Danney Martin; step sons and daughters Glen, Gary, Kevin, Kendrea, Duane, Karla and Keith; 27 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mabel was preceded in death by her first husband Odell Martin; daughter Deborah Giesler; son Richard Martin; brothers and sisters Maxine, Clara, Flossie, Grover, Beacher, Demon, Irene and grandson Jason Martin.

Visitation will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2 at the Westside Family Church, 8500 Woodsonia Dr. Lenexa, KS followed by funeral services at 11:30 a.m.; burial in the Bonner Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged for her favorite charity, a homeless shelter: My Father's House, 1004 North Pearl St, Paola, Ks 66071.
