Maedean Deremer

Maedean Deremer, 88, of Shawnee, KS, passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on December 5th, 2019. She was born on September 13th, 1931 in Quitman, AR to Andrew and Ellie Patterson.

Maedean Patterson married Herb Deremer on August 9th, 1949 and started their married life in DeSoto, KS. In 1959, they moved to Colby, KS where they raised their family and were very active in their community. Maedean loved to read, cook, garden and most importantly spoil her grandkids and great-grandkids. The Deremers made their final home in Shawnee, KS to be near family.

Maedean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herb Deremer; grandson, Mitchell Zimmerman; brothers, Joe, Henry and Darrell Patterson and sister, Hilda Higgs. She is survived by her son Bill and wife Peggy; daughters Jane Hodgdon, Barbara Turner and husband Patrick and Nancy Bowling and husband Leister; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Lena Martin, Marilyn Battles and her husband, Ted; and her special friend, Ron Mears.

A funeral service will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203 on Sunday, December 8th at 2:30 PM. Burial at Old Monticello Cemetery.
