November 3, 1933 — January 18, 2021

On January 18th, 2021, at 9:15 am, Mrs. Manjri Anil Khandwala peacefully passed away in Shawnee, Kansas.

Manjri was born in Surat, India, on November 3rd 1933, where she attended school and college. She worked as a teacher in a girls school for 7 years right after her graduation while supporting her family.  She married Anil Khandwala on December 20, 1959 and moved to Mumbai, India to settle down with her new family.

Manjri was a very easy-going person who was never seen without a smile on her face. She treated everyone with the same amount of respect. She loved to write, knit, embroider, read, and cook. She has published 2 books which have excerpts of stories from her real life, some mythology, and some fun-to-read short stories. She also loved to tutor in various languages. Her favorite languages were Sanskrit (in which she held her Masters) and Gujarati.  She will always be remembered for her cheerful personality. She loved to travel and not even age held her back.

She went back to teaching (something she always loved) after the birth of her second child and worked as a teacher again for 20+ years.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Ruchira Dalal and Prachi Shroff, son-in-law Raj Shroff, granddaughters, Medha and Pallavi Dalal, and grandsons, Mihir and Rohan Shroff.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Anil Khandwala, and son-in-law, Sanjay Dalal.

Her funeral and last rites will be held on Thursday, January 21st, 2021 at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, KS at 9:00 am CST.
