Margaret A. Logan, 94, died on June 26, 2015 and is now reunited with the love of her life, husband, Dean Logan, after 17 years. Margaret was raised in the Argentine district of Kansas City, Kansas, live in Lenexa, Kansas for 46 years, and retired with husband, Dean, to Grove, Oklahoma, on Grand Lake of the Cherokees for 16 years before returning to Johnson County.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Margaret, known as "Nanny" to her three grandchildren and six great grandchildren, dedicated her life to being a loving mother and was the best mother a son could ever ask for and a loving mother-in-law. While we will miss her greatly, we are comforted and reassured knowing that she is in a better place.
We want to thank the staff at Sunrise of Lenexa for their care for the past 41/2 years. We also want to thank Continua Hospice for their loving care and assistance.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Cyriel and Alice DeSmedt, sister, Johanna "Jenny" Ryckert and husband, Dean. She is survived by her son, Michael Logan and daughter-in-law, Donna Logan; granddaughters, Michele Logan, Lisa Livingston and her husband, Brad, and Deana Curtin and her husband, Kevin; great grandchildren, Braden and Jordyn Pomerantz, Nicholas and Nathan Livingston, Avery and Jack Curtin; nephews, John and Thomas Wise and Rick Ryckert; nieces Barbara Goering, Patti Weaver, Patti Lynn and Carol Russell.
A visitation will be 9:00-9:45 a.m., rosary recitation at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd St., Overland Park, KS; burial in the St. John's Cemetery, 8900 Pflumm Rd., Lenexa, KS.
A lifelong animal lover, Margaret was especially fond of dogs. In this spirit and in her honor, please consider a donation to the Great Plains SPCA, 5428 Antioch, Overland Park, KS 66202.
