Margaret Main, 88 of Lenexa, Kansas passed away peacefully May 12, 2009.

Margaret was born July 3, 1920 in Montezuma, Iowa the daughter of Anna Tish. She attended school through the tenth grade. Growing up she was a member of West Liberty Church of Christ in West Grove, Iowa. Margaret was united in marriage to Roland E. Main on October 12, 1940. To this union was born four sons and three daughters.

She was a member of the VFW Auxillary, was an honorary Local 101 Retiree, and a member of the Old Time Pickers, Fiddlers, and Singers. She was also a member of the Berea Class of the Merriam Christian Church.

Margaret was preceded in death by her mother, by her husband of 60 years, by her son Garold Main and her daughter Donna Mead. She was also preceded in death by four grandsons; Michael Heydman, Josh Uhlig, Jeffrey Davis, and Roland E. Main II.

She is survived by her son Delbert Main and wife Lee, by her son Marvin Main and wife Linda, by her daughter Judy Dobbs and husband Ben, by her son Rick Main and wife Mary Ellen, and by her daughter Roxanna Uhlig and husband Ken. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two sisters, Iona Latcham and Wilma Borloug, and a host of friends and relatives as well as her extended family at Sunrise Assisted Living.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Service will be held Friday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with a visitation from 9 to 11 am followed by the service at 11 am. Burial will follow services in Maple Hill Cemetery.
