Margaret “Marjorie” S. Mattione

Marjorie Mattione, 88, Shawnee, KS passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Brookdale Shawnee, KS.

Marjorie was born March 21, 1928 in Kansas City, KS to Paul and Mary Sedlock. She was a 1945 graduate of Ward High School and Kansas City Public Jr. College in 1947. Following college, Marjorie worked at Mid-Continent Airlines and General Motors. She also travelled across the US and Europe. On Sept. 10, 1955, Marjorie married Richard L. Mattione. She was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Ladies Guild, a Eucharistic minister and a founding member of the St. Joseph Circle.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard on Nov. 2, 2001 and sister, Mary Theroff in 2009. Survivors include her three children, Richard P. (Yasuko) Mattione, Sudbury, MA, Dr. George J. Mattione, Englewood, CO and Susan (David) Cearley, Stamford, CT; sister, Joan Corsentino, Raymore, MO; brother, James (Donna) Sedlock, Raymore, MO; and seven grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church; burial in the Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Amos Family Funeral Home, where a Rosary Recitation will be at 6:00 p.m.
