Margaret V. (Rieke) Peters, 98 of Overland Park, Kansas passed away August 26, 2014. Margaret was born June 27, 1916 to Alban Charles and Effie Edna Rieke at the family home in Shawnee. She was a wife, a mother, and a home maker. She loved playing bridge or any cards, also enjoyed golfing the 20 years she lived in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Margaret was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. She married Donald W. Peters on November 21, 1940 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, Kansas. She is survived by her husband Donald, and their five children; Donna Nicholas of St. Louis, Missouri, Janice Hughes of Easton, Maryland, Susan Paul of St. Louis, Missouri Dennis Peters of Shawnee, Kansas, Joyce Peters, of Boulder City, Nevada, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister, Patricia Rieke Lynch. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Katherine, Florence, Mary Helen, Yvonne, brothers; Leonard, Chester, Max, George, Paul and John.

Services

A Visitation has been scheduled for 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, September 5, 2014 at The Amos Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, Kansas. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Mausoleum.
