Maria Michelle Steinnagel

Maria Michelle Steinnagel, 55, of Shawnee, passed away Thursday morning in Kansas City, Missouri.

Maria was born October 22, 1953 to William E. Zarda, Sr. and Mary Jane Zarda in Kansas City, Kansas. Maria attended St. Joseph and Shawnee Mission North High School.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Klaus Steinnagel, father, Willliam E. Zarda, Sr., two sons, Jerry K. West, II, and Richard Anthony West, and a sister Mary Kathleen Zarda. She is also preceded by her two loving cats, YoYo and Truffles "Little Girl". Maria is survived by her Mother Mary Jane Zarda, Merriam, Kansas; one sister, Dawn Marie Zarda, Olathe, Kansas; Four brothers, William E. Zarda, Jr., (Dorothy), Shawnee, Kansas, John Zarda, Sr. (Janet), Merriam, Kansas, Kerry B. Zarda, Merriam, Kansas, George Zarda (Michelle), Lenexa, Kansas; and two grandsons, Jerry West, III and Miles West.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2009, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee. Burial will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
