Marilyn Kay Silacci

July 18, 1948 — March 18, 2017

Marilyn Silacci, 68, most recently of Lincoln City, OR passed away on March 18, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Marilyn was born July 18, 1948 in Canova, SD to Merrill and Elsie (O'Riley) Faller. She spent her youth on her parents farm in Artesian, SD and in Azusa, CA. She married Gary King in 1965 in South Dakota. Together with their infant daughter Kimberly, they moved to Southern California in 1967 and added daughter Lori to the family there. Marilyn was a young widow and raised her daughters as a single parent into their high school years. In 1985 she married Vernon Silacci in Morro Bay, CA. Marilyn and Vern traveled and lived many places, making close friends along the way in Albuquerque, NM, Olathe, KS and Lincoln City, OR. She loved learning and acquired her bachelor's degree later in life. Marilyn excelled in her work as an accountant, bookkeeper and office manager and was always well loved by her coworkers. In her free time, she loved traveling with her beloved husband Vern, spending time cooking, eating, playing cards & games with friends and family, and caring for her adoring pets Mickey & Roger, her companions for many years. She loved to entertain and being with her family was very important to her.  She cherished spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marilyn is survived by her husband Vernon Silacci, daughters Kimberly Henrie (Randy), Lori Ruley (Wayne), stepdaughter Katie Silacci, Stepson's Vernon Jr., Samuel, and Kenneth Silacci, grandchildren, Elizabeth, Megan, Kylie, Brody, Evan, Sesiree, Kevin, and Kyra, and seven great-grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her first husband Gary King, her parents, and sisters Connie Wolfe and Janet Uthus.

Services

Marilyn inherited a love of the beach from her mother. Her final resting place will be at Montana de Oro State Park in California, where her ashes will be spread privately as she requested. An online Celebration of Life is being held.
