Marilynn Brown Giltner, 74, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away, Monday, August 23, 2010.
Marilynn was born October 12, 1935, in Hays, Kansas, to Claude Harold and Bernadine Reagan Brown. Marilynn received her Bachelors in music education from Central Missouri State College where she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She worked as a music teacher and later as an accountant for real estate firms, retiring in 1996.
She was an avid collector of butterflies and books, amassing a library of more than 10,000 books. She retired to Cape Fair, Missouri, and lived there until April of this year, when she moved back to Kansas City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Thomas A. Giltner, Jr. Survivors include her children, Teri Lester and her husband, Graham, of Roeland Park, Kansas, Karen Jolosky and her husband, Bob, of Overland Park, Kansas, and Robert Giltner and his wife, Trisha, of Gardner, Kansas and seven grandchildren: Phillip, Leah, Young Han, Mihan, Jason, Kendra and Harrison.
Memorial Visitation
A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
