Marjorie F. Cash, 86, of Mission Woods, Kansas, died at Bickford of Overland Park on May 22, 2011.
She was born on November 6, 1924, in Clyde, Kansas, to Dr. Jesse and Florence (Tot) Naylor. Her father died before she was 3 years old. Tot moved to Kansas City and later married Fred Taylor who was a loving father to Marge. She graduated from Central High School, and then went to work for Dickey Clay. She married co-worker Bennett Cash on September 4, 1942.
Mom’s greatest passions were family and cooking. She was an excellent cook and especially loved to bake cookies, pies and cakes. She took a cake decorating class and made many wedding and special birthday cakes. She was a caretaker for several family members including Tot who lived to be 104 years old. She was a charter member of Overland Park Christian Church.
She is survived by son Jon and his wife Barbara of Port Angeles, Washington; son Jerry and his wife Carol of Overland Park and their children Christie, Jeff and Jay; daughter Jo Anne of Mission Woods; and her step-sister Charmaine Myers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, in 2004.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Alzheimer Association, Odyssey Hospice or Overland Park Christian Church.
Visitation and Memorial Service
Services will be held at Overland Park Christian Church on Saturday, June 11 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation after the service.
