Marjorie Mae Crance, 81, passed Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Sweet Life of Rosehill after a long illness.
Marjorie was born in Sioux City, Iowa and was raised in Lawton, Iowa. The family moved to Overland Park, Kansas in 1961 where she worked in the school system for many years. She also was employed as a switchboard operator for two furniture stores. She and Barney were very active with their church and the Elks Lodge. Marjorie was a woman of many talents including sewing, excellent piano and organ playing, singing, an excellent cook and she and Barney could dance the night away. Their love story will always be remembered in the hearts of those who knew them.
Marjorie is preceeded in death by her parents, her sibilings and beloved son. Marjorie is survived by her loving husband, Byron "Barney" Crance of Overland Park, Kansas and two daughters, Barbara Bates (Steve) of Olathe, Kansas and Deborah Caldwell (Thomas) of Lenexa, Kansas. She was grandmother of 18 and great grandmother of 19.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association.
Memorial Services
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Amos family Chapel of Shawnee.
