Marjorie Lee Kynion

June 2, 1930 — January 28, 2015

Marjorie Lee (Stemple) Kynion received her reward Wednesday, January 28th, 2015.

Mother of two and a lovely wife, Marjorie grew up in Southeast Kansas and lived there much of her life. She called Parsons, KS home for more than 35 years. It was in Kansas that she went to school, met her husband, raised two remarkable children, and came to know Jesus, her savior. In life, her giggle brought joy. In death, her perseverance inspires hope to everyone who knew her. Marjorie, or Grandma to nearly every person that knew her, was a woman with a steadying hope, the hope that remains no matter the circumstance.

In the 1960s, Grandma came to know Jesus and from then on her life was different. She went to the Lord with every difficulty and trial. She prayed continually for all those she loved deeply and to be loved deeply by Grandma was something to be thankful for. Her life had many struggles and many triumphs and in all of them, she called upon the name of Jesus.

For 60 years, Marjorie lived on this earth with her great love, Jack. Together they raised a family, loved their grandchildren, and established a foundation of substance for their family. Their love was great, enduring, and in the last year of Jack's life they were still found dancing together in their living room.

Grandma taught much to those who knew her. For example, water is better from a ladle, ice cream and chili dogs should be a part of everyday life, devotion is the greatest confirmation of identity, pride in one's family is unquestionable, and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

She will leave behind not only a legacy of prayer but also the blessings of a prayer filled life. Her children, her children's children, and their children after them are blessed by her lifetime of prayer and carry that blessing with them wherever they go.

Grandma's family wishes to thank Merle Stroud and Carolyn Lilley for their enduring friendship and the staff of Lakeview Village for daily showing care and affection worthy of honor. God bless you. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Kynion Sr. and her daughter Sherry Pluff. She is survived by her favorite son Joe Pluff, grandson Joe Pluff, his wife Kathy, their children Chelsea, Anthony, and Ali; granddaughter Tracy Boan and her sons Jake and Joe; Grandchildren Matthew and Jessica Pluff; Grandma's son Jack Kynion II, his wife Valerie, and their children, Jack III, Trevor and Katelyn Ramos, Amelia, Benjamin, and Abigail.
