Mark E. Bamburg, 48, Shawnee, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009.
Mark was born September 2, 1961 to Bob and Ruth Bamburg in Prineville, Oregon. After graduating from Baker City High School, Mark attended the University of Kansas where he was a member of the marching band. Mark graduated from KU with a Bachelor's in Business. After completing his degree at KU, Mark worked for the State Department as a Communications Specialist overseas in Brussels, Belgium and Brazilia, Brazil for over ten years. Mark won numerous awards for his cross stitching at the Johnson County Fair. He enjoyed genealogy, music and volunteering at the Johnson County Library.
Mark is survived by his parents, Bob and Ruth Bamburg, Shawnee, Kansas; two brothers, Mike Bamburg and wife Julie, Leawood, Kansas; Jim Bamburg, Mission, Kansas; a sister, Barb Bamburg and partner, Jeanne Crouch, Chicago, Illinois; and two nephews and two nieces.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle Street, Suite 1500, Chicago, Illinois 60604.
Visitation and Memorial Service
Visitation will be 2-3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2009, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel. Inurnment will be in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
