Mark Joseph Dickerson, age 63, passed away on August 10th, 2022 at Advent Health Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

Mark was born on April 7th, 1959 to Jerry and Rita (Hermann) Dickerson in Lincoln, Kansas. He graduated from Manhattan High School and attended Kansas State University where he studied construction science. Mark spent several years in the hotel industry. Later on, he continued his education in computer science. Upon graduation, Mark was employed by Balderson in Wamego, Kansas and also the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office in Topeka. He was currently employed at Midland Loan/PNC Bank in Kansas City, where he specialized in technology development and support.

Mark was interested in reading, woodworking, music, and his family. He was famous throughout the family for his Christmas candies, and will be remembered for his great cooking.

Mark is preceded by his parents, and one sister Theresa Anderson. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Donna Foley; sisters Elaine (Doug) Meloan, Diana Dickerson; sister-in-law Debbie Foley; nieces and nephews Christy Eylar, Nixie Eylar, Alvin Eylar III, Dustin Dickerson, Julie Meloan, Damon Dickerson, Dane Meloan, Sonya Dickerson, and Jacob Morgan; and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18th, 2022 from 5 to 7:00pm at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, Kansas.

In honor of Mark's love for reading and knowledge, donations in memory of him may be made to the Kansas City Public Library to help them with expanding access to books for more children and adults.
