Martha Morrish

March 8, 1928 — December 21, 2021

Martha Morrish, 93, of Olathe, KS passed away peacefully on December 21, 2021. She was born, along with her twin, Mabel, on March 8, 1928 in Ravenwood, MO to Will Edgar McDowell and Nina Belle (Stafford) McDowell. She was very creative, a faithful Christian, wife and mother, and a talented artist. She loved animals and the beauty of nature. She met Richard Morrish, the love of her life, while they both were attending the Kansas City Art Institute. They married in 1947 and settled in Kansas City North. They had 2 children, Rodger and Rhonda. Tragically, Richard passed in 1970. Martha enjoyed oil painting, drawing, crafting, worshiping, reading the bible, walking and spending time with her family. Her sister, Mabel, was her best friend. She worked at Hallmark in Kansas City for a time. She created artwork for local churches.

Martha is survived by her children, Rodger Morrish, his significant other, Nancy Fellenstein, Rhonda Wagaman and her husband, Warren Wagaman, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Will E.McDowell, Jr., Wesley Edgar McDowell, and her sisters, Laura Belle McDowell, Frances Severino, Margaret Goodwin and Mabel Anderson.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Amos Family Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:30 a.m. also at the funeral home.

Martha will be laid to rest at Fort Leavenworth, in Leavenworth, Kansas at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2022.
